A Little Rant 4 U 2 Read

hahahahaha. i'm not actually crying. i just found this and thought it was ridiculous and super emo.

Okay so...I have had no social life as of late. I mean, I run miles upon miles, go to school, and go to work. And I had been watching the NBA playoffs and American Idol but we all know how that turned out...anyway. So every Friday and Saturday night I come home from work, I am usually home alone, and I just do whatever. Like tonight I put my hair in rollers*, cleaned, made brownies for Relief Society tomorrow, and made myself a milkshake all while blasting country music. The point I am getting to is that as I was drinking my milkshake a thought struck me: how could I ever work every day for the rest of my life?! Is this what real life is? Work and school and hair in rollers and cleaning all aloney on my owney? (Please imagine the look on my face as I came to this realization.) And then naturally I started to think about my future and whatnot.

Anyway, I won't bore you with my entire train of thought. But I was just thinking about boys and boyfriends and love, etc. JUST SO YOU KNOW, there are times when I'm not thinking about those things.

So I was like, am I mad that I don't have a boyfriend? No. Absolutely not. Too mushy and embarrassing. Too much drama, too much touching, not enough time. In case you haven't noticed, I'm not the type of girl to be like OMG I NEED A BOYFRIEND STAT AND I MEAN YOU'RE MALE AND YOU'RE HERE AND I KINDA LIKE YOU SO....OKAY YEAH LIKE LET'S DATE LIKE IT'S FINE.

But I think what I don't like is that I don't give enough of a damn about any guy in my life to even care...you know? Like, I don't know a guy that I would want to be my boyfriend. Besides Jimmer. The fun thing about my life up until this point was that I always had a crush on someone. I feel like. Even if the love went unrequited (so 99% of the time), it was still fun to be giddy and ask the boy for gum during class or something and then chew it obsessively until it disintegrated. And most of the time, I didn't even actually want the love to be requited. Unrequited love is the only kind of love that doesn't freak me out beyond belief. So I guess I just gotta do me and grow up a little until some VERY lucky guy bursts into Zupas in the middle of my shift and exclaims that he can't live without me and he would like an Ultimate Grilled Cheese to-go.

Aaaaaand until then it's brownies and ice cream and rollers, I suppose.

*This woman came into Zupas today with rollers in her hair and they looked way cool and I didn't even realize they were rollers at first so I asked her about them and she told me and I went and got them after work. So we will see if they are awesome like she says.

SIMON SAYS...YOU ARE LAME

I really could go on forever about this, but I will try to keep my ranting to a minimum!

American Idol this year has been aaaamazing. Really. I love it. I am obsessed.

This week was probably my favorite week in the competition because most of the contestants got really creative and artsy fartsy and just had amazing performances. (I loved Haley, Casey, Paul, and Scotty this week. LOVED.)

AND tie me up and burn me at the stake, but I literally shouted for joy when I found out (via Ingrid Michaelson's twitter) that Pia got voted off! I was so happy! Apparently, I'm the only one. Every celebrity in America and guidos and guidettes everywhere are OUTRAGED and SHOCKED and blah blah blah.

...Seriously? You thought she would win?

Look at the competition. These people are straight-up artists! You can't just be a pretty girl with good vocals anymore (SEE ALSO: ASHTON & KAREN). YOU HAVE TO PERFORM AND YOU HAVE TO BE CREATIVE AND EMOTIONAL AND PASSIONATE.

Sorry, girlfriend. But when I look at you, I see someone going through the motions of performing without actually doing it. Like, you aren't even a diva or anything...Honestly, anyone who went to a performing arts high school in New York can sing like that. Sorrrrryyyy.

And hey, to all you Pia fans out there, she's going to get a record deal. JLo will make sure of it. Don't get your panties in a bunch and chill with the petition. They aren't going to put her back on the show. And really you aren't going to remember who she is by the time season 11 rolls around sooooooooo yeah.

The judges need to step up and do their job, or else there is going to be an outrage like this after every elimination. I don't think I have heard Steven Tyler say one negative thing this entire season, he just makes really weird comments that are actually praise. For just a made-up example, "A perfect performance is like a feather in the wind. You caught it, baby. Congratulations." and JLo just loves everyone and Randy only occassionally slips in some constructive criticism which is followed by boos from the audience. Simon, I really really really miss you.

But really, once Jacob and Stefano get kicked off, I'm going to be crying at probably every elimination.

Ryan, I love you.

Have you ever known someone to be better at their job than Ryan Seacrest?
I haven't.
Watching him host American Idol is like watching Kobe play ball.
I'm not being facetious.

Have you been watching American Idol? I very very highly recommend watching it because this season is seriously off the chain. Talent. Overload. I look forward to watching it every Thursday and Friday morning on DVR. We have a huge blast.

If you haven't been watching, it is not too late. In fact, the season has just begun. This week they chose the top 24 contestants, and although some people I really loved didn't make it this far, I have my favorites. Here we go.

Casey Abrams. Amazing. I would buy his album 100 times. #1 favorite, and the best musician in the competition. SOoOoOoO JaZzY AnD ArTsYfArTsY I LoVe.

Paul McDonald. Sexy. I want him to marry V...he's just her type. Oh na na na na.

Thia Megia. Beautiful, wonderfully unique, and only 16 years old! Girl's got PYPEZ.

Robbie Rosen. Nom nom nom gimme dat nose.

I used to really love Lauren Alaina but she gets more annoying by the second so we'll see if I like her once the live stuff starts. Jacob Lusk is obviously amazing but I would't buy his album. What would his album even be like? I have no idea. He's crazy.

PS The new judges are awesome and PPS this guy is Casey Garland's doppelganger.
And I bet you my mom predicted all of my favorites!!
