2010

Things I did in 2009:

Decided to go to BYU.
It was a really really hard decision. For a while I regretted it, and wished I had gone to Hawaii, and sometimes when I'm romping to class in the snow, I still wish I had; BUT I know I made the right decision (finally) and I love college.

Went to New York City and sang in Carnegie Hall.
This was my first trip to New York and I loved it. Singing in Carnegie Hall was amazing! I also saw my first ON BROADWAY show on this trip which was In The Heights and was excellent!

Participated in Once On This Island at RHS.
This was one of the best experiences of my senior year. I played the leading role of Ti Moune, and I got to work with a lot of amazing people, including my little sister! I learned so much from this show, and it may or may not be the last chance I have to do something like it. I am so thankful!

Graduated from Richland High School!
Moving here was a big change but I made a bunch of awesome friends, and had a lot of opportunities that I wouldn't have had at North. Looking back I've realized how lucky I am to have gone to two high schools and met so many cool people at both.

Went back to DG.
My graduation present from my parents was a plane ticket back to Chicago and I'm so glad I got to go. There's nothing like seeing old friends! Oh, and I got to eat some of my favorite foods...I had SMB for the first time--life changing.

Nannied over the summer.
This may not seem like a big deal but it was my first job! It was really challenging at times, but also rewarding. I love this family!

Went on fun vacations with my family.
Lake Powell and Mexico. Beautiful places with tons of friends and family we hadn't seen in a while. I loved the natural beauty of both Powell and Saliman Bay, and experiencing the culture while in Mexico.

Made even more best friends!

Watched some of the best TV shows ever made.
Favorites are Modern Family, Glee, and Gossip Girl.

Went to a Miley Cyrus concert/Turned 18.
However lame it may be, this was like a dream come true for me. One of my more shallow dreams, yes, but it was SO fun and the best birthday present I could have gotten. Turning 18 in Utah is kind of lame though...no lottery. All I wanted to do was buy a scratch ticket JUST BECAUSE I COULD. No such luck.

Finished my first semester at BYU.
I can't say that I wouldn't do things differently if I had a chance to re-live Fall semester. I write these crazy few months off as me learning how to be a college student. I learned a lot though, in and out of class, and I've set new goals for Winter...We shall see!

Happy New Year! :)
